I am currently a Research Specialist in Dr. Betsy Arnold's lab in the Department of Plant Sciences, Division of Plant Pathology and Microbiology at the University of Arizona. I did my undergraduate studies at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. I obtained a M.Sc in Biochemistry from Imperial College,University of London and a M.S. in Microbiology from Virginia Tech., Blacksburg, Virgina. I am interested in extra cellular enzyme production by endophytes and endolichenic fungi and their anti fungal activities against pathogenic organisms. I am also interested in other bioactive compounds produced by endophytes -- for example, anticancer agents.
